Assassin’s Creed: Origins is the seventh installment of the Assassin’s Creed series, based in Ancient Egypt. Developed by Ubisoft Montreal, the game is set during the Ptolemaic period (49–47 BCE).

The story progresses with fictional accounts of real-world events in that era and explores the reasons behind the conflict between the Brotherhood of Assassins and The Order of the Ancients. This game was released in 2017.

You play as a Medjay named Bayek, accompanied by his wife to protect the kingdom from the rule of Pharaoh Ptolemy XIII. The gameplay is relatively easy to understand.

Being a stealth game with action and adventure, players must complete quests to go forward with the main story. Along the way, they earn experience points and learn new skills. Outside of the main story, it is an open world.

Players can roam around wherever they wish on different vehicles such as camel-back, boat, horse-drawn carriages, etc. There are several side quests to complete and weapons to unlock. The game has the franchise’s famous eagle vision mode in the form of a Bonelli’s eagle named Senu. This feature lets players scout the enemy territory to check for enemies and objects. Using this, players can strategize and move forward accordingly.

What sets this game apart within the franchise is that it has arena-based combat, where the difficulty increases with every round in the boss fight. Different archetypes draw out enemies forcing players to learn the individual attributes of each weapon. In this way, players need to adjust their playing styles to ensure success. Players can choose their playing style based on location, stealth, and open combat. Go on an immersive adventure and learn new things along the way!
